What will your kids learn at the Hawaii Jr. Volleyball Club clinics? While we teach hitting, blocking, passing, digging and serving, what your kids learn will depend on their current skill level and physical coordination.
For the youngest children, skills include throwing and catching a ball, footwork, passing, serving, hitting, setting and blocking. Yes, even the smallest child can learn to block at Hawaii Jr. Volleyball Club clinics.
As children get older and more coordinated, they learn more techniques from Jon Stanley, a master volleyball player who still competes in national and world volleyball competitions. Kids at the older levels learn how to jump float and jump serve and hit with authority.
Here’s a look at what goes on in Hawaii Jr. Volleyball Club clinics. Kay Kasamoto produced the video below with original music created by Riker Kasamoto. Riker participated in weekly clinics since age 9 and went on to be the starting setter for Kaiser High School’s Boy’s Volleyball team from 2010-2013.
